Dean Mason

Dean experienced separation and divorce in the late 1990s and continues to live with its effects. The impact this has had on his life has inspired a determination to seek real help for those who suffer the trauma often associated with family breakdown. The elphe was looking for was not to help people superficially et overit but to find a healthy and enduring resolution so that the deep and toxic conflict often encountered does not linger and prevent those experiencing it from living life with a strong sense of purpose and genuine vitality. Beginning as a volunteer with Dads In Distress Support Services in 2004, Dean discovered the natural strength that trusting fellowship with others can bring. Keen to play a leadership role in this environment, Dean subsequently devoted a substantial amount of his recreation time to growing DIDSS peer support groups within Victoria and to supporting mainly men, but a number of women also, via the 1300 helpline out of hours. In 2010, Dean was elected National Chairman for DIDSS and is strongly focused on guiding the organisation growth and development to reach many more people in need of group and phone peer support services around Australia. Professionally, Dean works as a management consultant. He is happily partnered to Xiao, a proud step-father to Nick, and a proud father to three magnificent adult children from his first marriage.
