Glenn Shorrock

GLENN SHORROCK is one of Australian music’s most recognisable personalities – and voices! Born in Kent, England in 1944, following his family’s decision to emigrate to Australia in the 1950s he resettled in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. There, in the early 1960s, Glenn formed a ‘doo-wop’ a capella group with some other lads which later became the nucleus for the chart-topping pop group the Twilights. Winning Australia’s ‘Battle of the Bands’ in 1966, Glenn and the boys found themselves in England at the end of the year, recording at Abbey Road while the Beatles wrote ‘Penny Lane’ in the studio next door. After the demise of the Twilights in 1969, Glenn joined Brian Cadd to form Axiom, with their hit ‘A Little Ray Of Sunshine’ becoming an Australian classic. In 1975 Glenn became the frontman of a new group, Little River Band.
