Jann S. Wenner
American journalist Jann S. Wenner founded Rolling Stone magazine in 1967. Born in New York City, he attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he became an active supporter of the Free Speech Movement. Wenner is one of the founders of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and is credited with discovering such talents as Annie Leibovitz, Tom Wolfe, and Hunter S. Thompson. In 2010, Wenner was awarded the Norman Mailer Prize for magazine publishing.
