In 2023, with global conflict escalating, a paranoid billionaire develops a force field designed to provide safety to those shielded beneath. Five hundred years later, the society under the shield is very different. Gods rule with an iron fist and the lives of everyone else revolves around serving their interests or reproducing the dwindling population. But the balance of power is about to shift. Now eighteen, Grady Pryndot sets out on the travels that mark her coming of age. Her mother has never told her the truth about her father. Her teacher has never told her the truth about her legacy. Grady is about to challenge the world order because Grady is not who she thinks she is. She is much, much more. • Stratification is an exciting and fast paced speculative fiction novel for young adults • Stratification is the first YA novel from Australian author Ilsa Evans who has released twelve adult novels • Stratification features a strong female main character, humour and fantastical elements • Stratification is the first novel in a series of three

Ilsa Evans

Ilsa Evans lives in a partially renovated house (mostly held together by overladen bookshelves) in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. She shares her home with her three children (off and on), a multitude of possums and two psychotic dogs—neither of which are hers. She completed a PhD at Monash University in social and political inquiry and now teaches sociology and community services at Chisholm TAFE on the Mornington Peninsula. Stratification is her fourteenth novel, but her first foray into speculative fiction.
