Don is a retired school teacher who spent many years photographing birds in his spare time. During a stay of 8 years on Bougainville Island he was in the team that rediscovered Heinroth Shearwater, a Bush Warbler, together with the discovery of Thicket Warbler Cichlornis (Sylviinae) as well as a new species of Bush Warbler Cettia which was named after him and is now known as Cettia hadderi.
