Prior to Sydneysider Matt McCredie being accepted to train with the NSW Police Dog Squad he had worked as a prison guard in the NSW prisons system. His experience in prisons and on the beat as a police officer primed him well for the job - when he joined the Dog Squad he had extensive knowledge as to how criminals thought and the lengths they were willing to go to in order to avoid getting caught.
