Luke Lewis is the quintessential rugby league success story. A Western Sydney kid, born in 1983 into a single parent family in a housing commission home in Doonside all Lewis wanted to be was a professional rugby league player. Leaving school at age 16, he turned a modest contract with the Panthers into a 300-game, 18-year career that garnered him two premiership rings, a NSW State of Origin jersey and Australian Test selection.
